Με πλούσιο αρχειακό υλικό από τα αυστριακά και ουγγρικά αρχεία αναδεικνύεται ο ρόλος των Ελλήνων τεχνητών για τη μεταφορά της τεχνικής της ερυθροβαφής βαμβακονημάτων από τη Θεσσαλία στην κεντρική Ευρώπη, την ίδρυση εκεί προνομιακών εργαστηρίων, αλλά και την εμπορία τους. Ως επίμετρο δημοσιεύεται και αναλύεται στις οικονομικές του διαστάσεις το τελευταίο (1806) καταστατικό της εμποροτεχνικής 'συντροφιάς' των Αμπελακιωτών με έδρα τη Βιέννη και τα Αμπελάκια.

The object of this book is the presence and the role of the Greek merchants in the international commercial fair of Senigallia, that belonged in the Papal Sate . It is based on archival material from Rome, Senigallia and Venice.

It is an analytical research on the whole presence of the Greeks in Trieste from the communat organisational aspect (administration, church, education, philanthropy) , as well their very rich economical activities on the free city-port. This study belongs to the literature concerning the diaspora, migration, economic and social history.

The volume contains the Proceedings of the Conference, organized on January 2015 by the Faculty of History and Archaeology and the Foundation of the Hellenic Parliament, on the occasion of the celebration of the 200 years since the establishment of the 'Filiki Hetaireia" (1814).
